AFTERSHOCK ACADEMY is a place to embrace your creative and learn the discipline of design while finding friends for a lifetime. Our goal is to provide students the most comprehensive and condensed graphic design program making you more proficient prior to getting to the job market. Numerous graphic design programs in the industry focus on programs and all the short-cuts when using those programs. We will not sell you short on learning those programs, but you will be equipped well beyond a version of a program to tackle a long-term career as a graphic designer. The most fundamental thing to understand about being a designer IS DESIGN not a program; those are simply tools of the trade. A plumber does not learn only the use of a wrench, he masters the flow of water!

Message from the Chairman
Dear Students and Parents,
AFTERSHOCK ACADEMY was developed to address two core issues in the industry:
1. To shift the industry Graphic Design Programs curriculum that focuses largely on software knowledge and to integrate the fundamental knowledge required for creative message development; and
2. To maximize the allocated time Graphic Design Programs are rather than extending the length to add a perceived value and additional proficiency for the student. Simpy stated, Graphic Designers are not asked during interviews, the number of hours they have used Adobe Software; they are asked to showcase their portfolio and speak to those design elements.
Aftershock Academy is committed to the students success in fulfilling the void in the job market. Having personally interviewed thousands of Graphic Design students coming out of numerous design institutions, the need for change was obvious. The gap between students becoming professionals is alarming. Aftershock Academy is the paradigm shift the industry is seeking when provided the fundamental tools a student requires to become industry ready when able to converse with the basic knowledge and skills required to become a valued member of any creative team; a professional graphic designer. Aftershock Academy creates ‘industry ready’ students who can engage with an organization upon completion of their program.
I am overwhelmed by the progress made by the academy at numerous levels: academic, professional and creative. It is our goal that every student who steps out of Aftershock Academy be recognized for their outstanding contribution as a well-rounded professional individual, having transformed their ambitious career potential into a repute, fulfilling and highly rewarding future.
